Music notes: Fall fundraiser for WRIR.

The fall fund drive for nonprofit WRIR (97.3 FM) kicks off at 5 p.m. tomorrow. An early donation of $40 or more will get you a special invitation to a station event and a WRIR T-shirt. Adam Lambert is scheduled to perform his new song, "Time for Miracles" (coming on the soundtrack to the film "2012"), on the American Music Awards, which will air live on ABC on Nov. 22. . . . Carrie Underwood will host a holiday variety show on Fox on Dec. 7. "An All-Star Holiday Special" is expected to include appearances from Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and David Cook. . . . The Sundance Channel brings back "Spectacle: Elvis Costello With . . . " on Dec. 9. Confirmed guests include Bono and The Edge, Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow and Lyle Lovett. . . . Sting's "If Only On A Winter's Night . . . " album arrives Oct. 27, and then on Nov. 24 comes the DVD "Sting: A Winter's Night . . . Live From Durham Cathedral." The concert performance comes from a show taped in northern England. Also coming to DVD is "Kings of Leon: Live at The O2 London, England." The regular version arrives Nov. 10 with a BluRay edition Nov. 24.

Carly Simon has re-recorded acoustic versions of many of her best-known songs, including "You're So Vain" and "Coming Around Again," for "Never Been Gone," due Oct. 27. . . . Katy Perry will release an "MTV: Unplugged" CD and DVD on Nov. 17. Recorded live in New York this summer, the disc contains unplugged versions of "I Kissed a Girl" and "Waking Up in Vegas," among other songs. . . . A two-disc "Number Ones" collection from Janet Jackson is coming Nov. 17. The set also includes the new tune "Make Me." . . . Susan Boyle's debut record, "I Dreamed a Dream," out Nov. 24, will include her versions of the Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses," Madonna's "You'll See" and The Monkees' "Daydream Believer." . . .
