Morning DJ Scott returning to Richmond
Randy Scott, a name familiar to Richmond radio listeners in the 1960s and '70s, is returning to the airwaves Monday.
Scott, who hosted the morning show on WLEE in the heyday of AM radio, will helm "Breakfast in the Silver Diner with Randy Scott" on WZEZ (100.5-FM).
The show will air live weekdays, 6:30-9 a.m., from the Silver Diner at Cox Road and Broad Street in western Henrico County. It's the first daily morning radio show to originate from inside a local restaurant.
"Breakfast" will feature chats with local musicians, entertainers and politicians and also play into its surroundings by featuring music from the '50s to the '70s.
Scott left WLEE in 1974, anchored sports at WRIC-Channel 8, then headed to Tampa, Fla., where he also anchored TV sports and did play-by-play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Florida Gators. -- Melissa Ruggieri
