Lisa Ling, a former co-host of "The View," will be back as a guest co-host for two days next month.

ABC said Ling will sit alongside Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd for the Oct. 5 and 6 broadcasts of the weekday talk show. She will sub for regular co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who is on maternity leave until mid-October.

  • Yesterday marked the final flicker of CBS' "Guiding Light" as that venerable daytime drama logged its farewell hour after 72 years on the air. The closing moments sealed the future of the show's signature on-and-off-again supercouple: Reva (Kim Zimmer, who created the role in 1983) and Josh (Robert Newman, who started on the show in 1981). They rendezvoused, according to plan, at the local lighthouse, declared their undying love and drove away, as the words "The End" flashed on the screen.

  • "Grey's Anatomy" star Katherine Heigl and songwriter husband Josh Kelley have completed their adoption of a baby girl from Korea.

Comedy Central is reviving the American Comedy Awards. The show, last held in 2001, was held for 15 years. -- From Wire Reports
