Visual Arts Center’s president and CEO to retire

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Jo Kennedy, the president and CEO of the Visual Arts Center of Richmond since 2000, is retiring June 30.

During her tenure, she has overseen significant growth and expansion at the center, which was founded in 1962 as the Hand Workshop. Two years ago, the center completed a renovation of its home in the old Virginia Dairy Building on Main Street. The 30,000-square-foot facility includes space for classes in a variety of visual arts. About 5,000 adults and children take classes there each year.

A search for a new president is under way.
