Art show benefits Richmond SPCA
ArtWorks in Manchester recently opened its second annual "A DOGmatic CATasTROPHY!," a juried all-media show of artworks featuring dogs and cats.
Half the proceeds from the sale of the art will help support homeless animals. Last year, the gallery raised more than $1,000 for the Richmond SPCA.
"This is a great show, because each piece reflects the relationship someone has with a cat or a dog, whether the animal is their pet, a friend's or a brief artistic encounter," said ArtWorks co-owner Glenda Kotchish. "The viewer can share in and experience these same relationships reflected in the work. The artwork is technically good and, as the juror Wolfgang Jasper put it in his gallery talk, whimsical."
The exhibition runs through Sept. 20 at 320 Hull St. Hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
