"Poe's Playground," an art exhibition inspired by Edgar Allan Poe, is showing at Linden Row Inn.

The show, organized by 1708 Gallery, features work by Edgar Allan Poe Museum curator Chris Semtner, Caryl Burtner, Jamie Burwell Mixon, Mark Chatterley, Kathryn Henry-Choisser, John Moser, Amie Oliver and Noah Scalin.

" 'Poe's Playground' explores how a writer can influence the mood or tone of place. Some of the artists' works interpret Poe's writings literally; others are more playful. There are also works that are dark and dreamlike," said Oliver, the show's curator. "Poe's influence is reflected in many different ways but not necessarily the most obvious ones."

The exhibition runs through Tuesday at 100 E. Franklin St. It takes place in the inn's public areas, and may be viewed 24 hours a day.
