Canned food donation means reduced price for Bandfest

Teens who bring a donation for the Central Virginia Food Bank to Bandfest, United for Change on March 14 will receive $2 off admission. Suggested donations include canned fish or meat, peanut butter, rice, and boxed cereal or pasta.

Bandfest, United for Change will be 6-10 p.m., at Southside Church of the Nazarene, 6851 Courthouse Road. Youths in middle and high school are invited for a night of music, games and entertainment. The following bands are scheduled to perform: Audible View, Eat the Center, Look to the Sky, Our City Sleeps, The District Kids and Men of Leisure. Admission is $7 per person or $5 with a donation of nonperishable food.

The event is sponsored by the Chesterfield County Youth Planning and Development Department, Substance Abuse Free Environment Inc., or SAFE, and Southside Church of the Nazarene. For more information, contact Beth Clements at (804) 796-7100 or .
