Other suggestions:
2004 Joh. Jos. Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett ($44.95): This world-class Riesling from Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region of Germany has delicate aromas of stone fruit and apricots and is rich in the mouth with the classic balance of roundness and slate minerality on the finish. The lighter alcohol (7.5 percent) classic Mosels are among the most food-friendly wines made and will complement sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, spicy stuffing, and turkey with gravy. Wrongly accused of being sweet, Rieslings are complex and age worthy. -- Jim Compton, J. Emerson
Rabbit Ridge Allure 2007 ($8.99): This wine is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre with good structure. It's fruit forward (cherry, strawberry), medium-bodied and well balanced to suit any Thanksgiving menu. -- Carol Nestor, Vineyard's Corner
2008 Ken Wright Pinot Noir Canary Hill or Nysa Vineyard ($59.50): The Canary Hill wine shows more dark cherry fruit, while the Nysa shows more red berry fruit. Both these wines from Oregon's Willamette Valley have the wonderful balance and mouthfeel that has made Ken Wright an icon in American winemaking. Ken Wright's vineyard manager, Seth Miller, chose these wines for Barrel Thief -- Ross Mattis, Barrel Thief
Cousino Macul Sauvignon Gris ($15.99): A unique varietal, this Sauvignon Gris from Bordeaux has bright tropical fruit notes with crisp acidity. Goes extremely well with any poultry. -- Henry Reidy, Strawberry Street Vineyards
