The Legal Information Network for Cancer and Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital at CJW Medical Center will present a seminar focusing on the non-medical issues faced by cancer patients next Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m., Stalker Main Auditorium at 1401 Johnston-Willis Drive.
LINC provides legal, debt management, financial planning and educational services to cancer patients and their families and referral to community resources.

Conference on dementia
The Alzheimer's Association Greater Richmond Chapter will hold a conference Saturday to discuss dementia among black people from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary St.
The conference will feature Dr. Arline Bohannan, a geriatric specialist at the VCU Medical Center, who will explore the black experience with Alzheimer's and dementia. Also, the Rev. Dr. Patricia Gould-Champ, pastor of Richmond's Faith Community Baptist Church, will discuss the role of the church for the care partner and the person with dementia.
The cost is $20, which includes lunch and materials.

Fundraising benefit
The Richmond Academy of Medicine will hold a fundraising benefit for Access Now, a program that provides free health care for area residents who have limited means and no health insurance.
Casino Night will be held Saturday at the Country Club of Virginia from 7 to 11 p.m. Proceeds from Casino Night will go to supporting the cost of the program.
The cost is $50 per person.

Positive intervention
