Ashland is 150 years old this year, and everyone is invited to celebrate with the town Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, on the campus of Randolph-Macon College.

This is a free family-friendly, rain-or-shine event. Please, no dogs. The activities begin at 12:30 p.m. with the All-Hanover County Schools Marching Band on Day Football Field.

The Opening Ceremony continues from 1 to 2 p.m. with guest speakers, the unveiling of the birthday cake sculpture and time capsule, music and birthday wishes. Afterward, everyone can have birthday cake by the fountain.

From 2 to 5:30 p.m., enjoy the Exhibition Hall, children's activities led by Radio Disney! and music on the Concert Stage by the fountain. For our hungry guests, food vendors will set up near the celebration.
