Richmond man dies of injuries from crash; wife, daughter also hurt

A 49-year-old Richmond man who died of crash injuries he suffered Nov. 16 was identified yesterday by Virginia State Police.

Douglas F. Wolliver Jr. of the 6000 block of Wainwright Drive in South Richmond died Sunday shortly after 4 p.m. at VCU Medical Center. He was a passenger in a car headed north on German School Road about a half-mile from his home when it was hit by a car at German School's intersection with Midlothian Turnpike, police said.

Police said the driver of the other vehicle, Crystal Crawford of Powhatan County, ran a red light at the intersection.

She was charged with reckless driving, and the investigation is ongoing, Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney Tracy Thorne-Begland said.

Wolliver's wife and daughter were also injured the crash. Their conditions were not available last night.

Wolliver was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
