A gunman was arrested today minutes after police said he robbed the First Market Bank branch at 9027 Forest Hill Avenue in Chesterfield County.

Gregory M. Wood, 42, of the 7800 block of Whitworth Road in Chesterfield, was taken into custody after police quickly spotted his vehicle in the Bon Air area after the 11:15 a.m. holdup, police said. He was charged with two counts of robbery and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Police said a man entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded money. He displayed a gun in his waistband and then approached a second teller and demanded additional cash.

Wood was being held without bond in the Chesterfield Jail pending a hearing tomorrow in Chesterfield General District Court.
