Center to feature artist Mike Coleman

Artist Mike Coleman's "Holy Smokes -- A World of Cajun Beauties, Brassy Blues n' Smokin' Joes" will be featured at the Gallery at the Montpelier Center for Arts and Education in October.

An artist, sculptor and teacher, Coleman, holds a master of fine arts degree in sculpture from Southern Illinois University.

Most recently, he designed the set for the PBS special "The Neon Man and Me."

When Coleman is not at his Fulton Hill studio painting, he's usually at his home in Quinton, Va., playing blues guitar.

The show will run Oct. 3-31 with an artist's reception Sunday, Oct. 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. Admission is free for the show and the reception.

Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday, 9-9, Friday, 9-6 and Saturday, 10-2. The center is at 17205 Mountain Road in the village of Montpelier, Va..
