The Rover Owners' Association of Virginia (ROAV) will have its 2008 Mid-Atlantic Land Rover Rally, Oct. 2-5, 2008, in Nelson County.

Known internationally as the "MAR," the rally will be at the Oak Ridge Estate in Arrington, Virginia, in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Oak Ridge is a 5,000-acre private estate with numerous attractions for Land Rover enthusiasts. Its extensive trail system offers obstacles for a wide range of vehicles, from showroom stock vehicles to extremely modified vehicles.

For 2008, ROAV's MAR will focus on the 60th anniversary of the Land Rover marque.

The MAR will offer a wide range of events, including a catered dinner, an auction, camping areas and more miles of trails than can be driven during the rally!

This year will mark the 16th MAR organized by the Rover Owners' Association of Virginia.

Established in 1975, ROAV is the oldest Land Rover Club in the Americas, and its Mid-Atlantic Rally is considered the largest annual Land Rover event/rally in the United States.

Last year, more than 350 Land Rovers along with more than 600 of their owners and friends, attended the MAR.
