A Richmond police officer suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash early this morning at the intersection of Libbie Avenue and Grove Avenue in the city's West End.

Officer Duane Osbourne was traveling east on Grove Avenue when his police cruiser collided with a Mitsubishi pickup truck traveling south on Libbie Avenue around 12:46 a.m.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, said Richmond Police Capt. Linda Samuel.

Osbourne, who was on duty at the time of the crash, was transported to Retreat Hospital with minor injuries to his right hand.

The driver of the pickup truck reported no injuries, while a passenger was taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Samuel said.
