Two young women die in Amelia County car crash
A two-vehicle crash in Amelia County yesterday claimed the lives of two young women.
Virginia State Police said Sarah Leigh Taylor, 24, of Powhatan County and Danielle Taylor, 21, died from injuries suffered in a crash around 1:20 p.m. yesterday at Grub Hill Church Road and U.S. 360.
Sarah Taylor died at the scene and Danielle Taylor died last night at VCU Medical Center, said State Police Sgt. Thomas J. Molnar.
The two victims weren't wearing safety belts at the time of the crash, police said.
Police said the crash occurred when a 1992 Oldsmobile driven by Mary Lou Hazelbaker, of Amelia, was traveling south on Grub Hill Church Road failed to yield the right of way at the intersection with U.S. 360. A 2007 International truck traveling west on U.S. 360 struck the Oldsmobile, which overturned and ejected two passengers.
The driver of the truck, Martin Dilliam, 55, of Marion, was not injured in the crash, Molnar said.
The crash remains under investigation.

Please people, wear your seatbelts.
My heart and prayers go out to the entire Taylor family for the terrible loss of these two beautiful bright young ladies who were outstanding students with their entire futures ahead of them. I did not know them personally but their Uncle Marvin (my significant other) spoke of them often and always had nothing but wonderful things to say about them. To their father John my deepest sympathy as I can not imagine the pain he feels losing two outstanding children. I know they are with God and hope that gives him some comfort.
God Bless
