Ways to help veterans

A retired Air Force officer in Chesterfield County has established a nonprofit organization to encourage military veterans to donate their onetime $250 stimulus payments to charitable organizations helping military veterans and families. Here are the organizations involved:
VetsGive250.org: The organization and Web site of the same name were created by Joe Codiroli, who retired from the Air Force in 2004.
Wounded Warrior Project: Based in Jacksonville, Fla., the Web site address is http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
Freedom Alliance: Based in Loudoun County, the Web site address is http://www.freedomalliance.org.
