Chester crash fatal to motorcyclist

Chesterfield County police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a motorcyclist in Chester yesterday.

Damon Welle, 19, of the 9000 block of Lost Forest Drive was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a dump truck shortly before 2 p.m., according to police.

Welle was traveling north in the 11300 block of Chester Road, south of Paces Ferry Road, when he collided with the truck, which was pulling out of a private drive, said police Lt. Mike Louth.

Welle died at the scene. The other driver was not injured.

Chester Road was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
