Chester crash fatal to motorcyclist

Chesterfield County police are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a motorcyclist in Chester yesterday.

Police Lt. Mike Louth said the motorcycle was traveling north in the 11300 block of Chester Road, south of Paces Ferry Road, when it collided with a dump truck pulling onto the road shortly before 2 p.m. The truck was loaded with mulch and pulling out of a business, Louth said.

The motorcyclist, whose identity was being withheld pending notification of relatives, died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Chester Road was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
