Here's a snapshot of emergency calls during the week of Aug. 24-31, as reported by Metro Richmond fire departments.

RICHMOND

Fire Calls: 174 Emergency Medical Calls: 404 EMS: Cardiac arrest (8), chest pain (59), breathing problems (124), shooting (9), stabbing (2), unconsciousness (79).

Significant Events: Fire: 2500 block of Pompey Spring, house; accidental. Fire: 2500 block of Rosetta Street, apartment; under investigation.

HENRICO

Fire Calls: 170 Emergency Medical Calls: 450

Significant Events: Fire: 9500 block of Nandina Road, tool shed; under investigation. Fire: 1900 block of Byron Street, single-family dwelling. Significant fire in the kitchen; caused by a pan left on the stove. No injuries.
