Fort Lee training exercise deals with mock protesters

FORT LEE -- Motorists along state Route 36 just outside Fort Lee slowed down yesterday morning to take a peek at the soldiers in full gear guarding the main gate.
About a dozen protesters held posters and chanted, "No more hate! No more hate!"
The base's law enforcement made sure the demonstrators stayed calm and outside Fort Lee's perimeters.
It was a peaceful and short demonstration, but such an unusual scene that a traffic backup seemed inevitable.
"What's going on?" asked a passing driver.
Fort Lee law-enforcement, civilian and military personnel were simulating a protest as part of a three-day anti-terrorism and force-protection exercise at the Army base.
"It is really important to do training like this," said Garrison Commander Col. Mike Morrow, noting the Army's dedication to protect its soldiers and their families.
Throughout the year, Fort Lee officials conduct emergency training, analyze local crime trends and national threats to prepare for different scenarios, from protests to shootings to more violent attacks, Morrow said.
Training today consists of a more violent scenario, base officials said.
"We look at all the ways that somebody would try to do us harm," Morrow said. "We train for as many contingencies as we can and we work closely with the local communities."
Fort Lee law enforcement -- made up of military police, Army Civilian Police and contract security guards -- is conducting this week's training in collaboration with the FBI and Chesterfield County police, Morrow said.
In yesterday's simulation, demonstrators protested against the trial of a soldier who is a white supremacist. Police directed traffic, and military police kept the protesters outside the gate and asked them to back up from the entrance as the demonstration escalated.
In a real scenario, the Civilian Police would handle arrests on federal property, said Fort Lee Police Chief Joseph Metzger. Local police would be called to assist, he said.
Fort Lee has never dealt with such a situation, Metzger said.
Fort Lee is considered a critical infrastructure, just like all military bases, airports and power plants, and ensuring the integrity of these facilities has become a homeland security priority, particularly after the Sept. 11 attacks.
Security training at Fort Lee, for example, has increased since 9/11, Metzger said.
"We have come a long way," he said, "in training with the threats that we face today."

Why is the MILITARY equating PROTESTS with TERRORISM? In their own documents, these people are being trained that protests are “LOW LEVEL TERRORISM,“ and protesters are potential terrorists. When has an American protester gone after a member of the military’s family for an issue they are protestinig? When has an American protestor attacked a military base?
According to this article, our military is training for a situation where they, the military, are holding a “white supremesist” on base, not in a jail, and a group of potentially violent protesters are chanting, “NO MORE HATE!“ GIVE ME A BREAK!!!
First, many of these so-called “white supremesists” are agents and provacatures for the FBI and groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center. Ask Hal Turner’s attorney, and his family.
Lee Harvey Oswald, Ted Kocinski, Tim McVey, Ramsey Yousef, the guy who ran the Miami 7 terrorist group, the guy who supplied the group in New York, the guy who supplied manuer to the group in Canada, ALL linked to the FBI, and the federal government. Look it up, MAIN STREAM MEDIA will tell you about all of it, if you just use a search engine.
Second, the military has NO AUTHORITY to hold anyone who is NOT a member of the military, certainly not an AMERICAN CITIZEN, and it is TREASON to subject an AMERICAN CIIZEN to a military tribunal, even if you call it a trial on a military base.
Third, acknowledging that you are not legally allowed to execute the training your getting, and wasting our money on, is NOT an appropriate responce to the fact that you are training for MARTIAL LAW which is TREASON under the CONSTITUTION!!!
It is ILLEGAL to use the military on the people. It is ILLEGAL to use the military for law enforcement. It is ILLEGAL for the civi- cops to “work with” the military. And using the military AGAINST our own people, is TREASON!!!
If you are military and you are ordered to act AGAINST the Amrican people, you must stand by your OATH TO UPHOLD AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION, and refuse these ILLEGAL orders.
If you are a cop and you witness a soldier, marine, or sailor, act against the American people, stand by your OATH TO UPHOLD AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION, and arrest the CRIMINAL who is wrapped in our flag.
We have RIGHTS, and the government has NO AUTHORITY under ANY circumstances to revoke our GOD-GIVEN HUMAN RIGHTS!!! We don’t want your vaccines. We will NOT take them. We are NOT going to the FEMA camps. We will NOT allow you to split our families up. We will NOT comply with illegal searches, nor stand quiet while illegal military checkpoints violate our right to travel and our RIGHT to privacy.
If you ignore your oath, you will be arrested. You will be tried. You will be convicted by a jury of your peers. And you will get the sentence you deserve. Just like Nuremberg.
