DNC giving Deeds additional $1 million
The Democratic National Committee on Monday will give an additional $1 million to R. Creigh Deeds, the Democratic candidate for governor.
The additional funding comes at a pivotal time for Deeds, who is seeking to boost his fundraising to make a late advertising push.
The DNC previously has contributed $5 million to Deeds, who is in a tight race with Bob McDonnell, the Republican nominee.
The Republican National Committee has said it is committed to spending $7 million on the Virginia race, one of two contests for governor this year.
Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, whose popularity has slipped amid tough budget choices and his travel for the Democratic National Committee, does not appear in Deeds' ads. But as President Barack Obama's hand-picked chairman of the DNC, Kaine is in a position to boost Deeds' campaign.
Kaine campaigned with Deeds on Saturday at the Second Street Festival in Richmond and in Hampton Roads.
Deeds' ads have focused on a thesis that McDonnell wrote in 1989 while a graduate student. McDonnell has targeted Deeds' willingness to raise taxes for transportation.
In addition to the advertising push, the candidates are jockeying to win a battle of perception. On Oct. 15 they will file campaign finance reports covering their September fundraising.
Through Aug. 31, McDonnell had $5.8 million in cash on hand, to Deeds' $4.4 million. McDonnell had raised a total of $13.6 million to Deeds' $9.6 million.

MrCobray, I think you missed the sarcasm in my post, sorry.
Ken you are more than 100% correct on Jimmy Carter being the worst of all Presidents… I remember running to the polls when Ronald Regan was running. I could not get there quick enough.
To top it all off… he is still the worst ambassador we have for a retired President. If you could keep his mouth shut he would serve his country in a much better way.
I am sure the money came from the “Stimulast Package” in which you and I as taxpayers are paying for.
The only reason they gave him the money is… they feel desperate and it shows how the Liberal Democrats have reached another LOW point in this election.
The ONLY reason Jimmy Carter would not be voted the worst president in history is because so many people were children or were not born when he was president. For those of us who were trying to live and raise a family while he was president, it is an easy decision.
They are just trying to stimulate the economy.
If you EVER want any credibility, NEVER quote Wikipedia. It is called the Abomination of Misinformation for a reason.
Yo’ you all have excellent opinions and I’m really happy or ya’, and I’mma let yu finish, but GWB is the worst modern president according to recent polls:

And perhaps this article alludes to the root cause of why GWB was so bad:

The DNC can give Deeds 50 million more but I am still voting for McDonnell.
theobserver… only six other states had a budget deficit higher than Virginia’s $3.7 billion deficit in 2008 under Governor Part-Time. That deficit was not due to Bush; it was due to Warner and Timmy increasing the size of government by absurd proportions.
When McDonnell gets in and we can start stripping away unnecessary spending, then you’ll see efficient government.
Ted M… no, right now the honor of the worst president in history goes to Jimmy Carter without a fight. Obama hasn’t had enough time yet to be the worst in history, but he’s well on the way.
And you think America is at the brink of total collapse? You’re either joking or you’ve fallen for the inane liberal rhetoric. This country was in FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR worse shape in 1979 when unemployment was 12 percent, interest rates were 21 percent, gas prices on an inflationary scale were over $4 a gallon and general malaise due to having a lamebrain in office was at a level not seen since Harding.
And the rest of your post is BS, too.
