Richmond Symphony Designer House: Tara II, 5511 Cary St. Road, is this year's designer house. Basic Floral Design Part 2, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Oct. 14, 21 and 28, $145-$160.

Fall Pruning for Shrubs, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Oct. 18, $30-$40.

Plants for Free: Divisions, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Oct. 18, $25-$35.

Tree Stewards Training: Classes begin Tuesday for the city of Richmond Tree Stewards program, with sessions from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Dec. 9 (except Nov. 25) in the Round House, Byrd Park. The class is open to noncity residents, but Richmond residents who take the class are expected to perform 20 hours of service as tree stewards. $95 Richmond residents; $150 others. (804) 646-6785.
