A memorial fund has been established for the families of the victims of Tuesday's house fire in Highland Springs.

The blaze killed Latasha N. Davis, 28; her daughter, Jazmine Whisnant, 8; and son, Jamie L. Whisnant Jr., 3. On Thursday, more than 250 people gathered at a local football field to remember the victims, who authorities said died of smoke inhalation.

Alicia Rasin, a victims advocate, said yesterday that contributions to the Davis-Whisnant Family Memorial Fund can be made at any Wachovia Bank branch.

A viewing will be held Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Ave., and the funeral will be Tuesday at noon at The St. Paul's Baptist Church, 4247 Creighton Road.
