FAIRFAX -- Fairfax County fire officials say two construction workers were rescued today after they lost control of scaffolding 25 floors up a condominium.

The incident took place about 5:10 p.m. in the 5500 block of Seminary Road.

Lt. Raul Castillo of Fairfax County Fire and Rescue says the two men were working on scaffolding 25 stories up when they lost control of it. The scaffolding was hanging perpendicular to the building.

One worker was rescued through a 25th-floor window. A firefighter had to be lowered to rescue the second worker, who was below the scaffolding near the 20th floor.

The two workers were evaluated by paramedics at the scene. -- The Associated Press
