FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

OFFICES -- Closed Thursday.

POSTAL SERVICE -- Closed Thursday; no delivery.

OFFICES -- Close at noon Wednesday and will reopen Monday.

COUNTY, CITY OFFICES -- Charles City, Chesterfield and Hanover close Wednesday and will reopen Monday. Henrico closes at noon Wednesday and will reopen Friday. Goochland, Powhatan and New Kent close at noon Wednesday and will reopen Monday. Richmond closes Thursday and will reopen Monday.

COLLEGES -- VCU, VSU, VUU and Randolph-Macon College closed and will reopen Jan. 5. J. Sargeant Reynolds closes tomorrow and will reopen Jan. 5. UR and John Tyler Community College close Wednesday and will reopen Jan. 5.

SCHOOLS -- Closed; reopen Jan. 5.

COURTS -- Most courts are closed Wednesday -- however, there are exceptions. Contact the courts for specific information. All courts are closed Thursday and Friday.

DMV -- Customer-service centers close at noon Wednesday and will reopen Monday.

LIBRARIES -- Chesterfield, Goochland and Hanover close Wednesday and will reopen Friday. Henrico closes at noon Wednesday and will reopen Friday. Powhatan closes at noon Wednesday and will reopen Saturday. Richmond closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday and will reopen Saturday. Heritage Public Library (serving Charles City and New Kent) closes Thursday and will reopen Saturday.

TRASH -- Richmond and Henrico: no pickups Thursday. Collections a day late beginning Friday. Central Virginia Waste Management Authority pickups will be a day late beginning Friday. Most transfer stations and landfills close early Wednesday contact them for specific hours. All transfer stations and landfills are closed Thursday.

RECYCLING -- No curbside recycling Thursday. Pickups will be a day late beginning Friday.

TRAFFIC -- On Wednesday, only no-parking and restricted-parking zones will be enforced. On Thursday and Friday, city parking meters, time-zones signs, peak-time travel lanes, and no-parking and restricted-parking zones will not be enforced.

GRTC -- On Wednesday, buses will operate on a normal schedule with mid-day service on the Glenside/Parham/Gaskins (No. 25), Fair Oaks (No. 28), Stony Point (No. 64), Chesterfield (No. 81) and Hull Street/Commonwealth 20 Express Routes (No. 82). On Thursday, buses will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule. On Friday, buses will operate on a normal schedule with reduced service on the Parham (No. 26), Glenside (No. 27), Gaskins (No. 29) and Hull Street/Commonwealth 20 Express Routes (No. 82).

STOCK MARKET -- Closes at 1 p.m. Wednesday and will reopen Friday.

BANKS -- Most banks will close early Wednesday -- contact for specific hours. All banks are closed Thursday and will reopen Friday.

ABC STORES -- Close at 6 p.m. Wednesday and will reopen Friday.

MAJOR MALLS -- Malls will close early Wednesday -- contact for specific hours. All malls closed Thursday and will reopen Friday.
