Kaine details October travels
Gov. Timothy M. Kaine was out of state for at least parts of 14 days in October, according to a travel log that his office released late yesterday.
Kaine, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, was in Chicago and Boston on Oct. 15 and returned from Boston on Oct. 16. He traveled to New York on Oct. 20, stayed overnight, and stopped in Washington on the way back to Richmond the next day, according to the log.
Kaine spent part of Oct. 23 in Tallahassee, Fla. before traveling to Miami, where he also spent part of the 24th. He traveled to New Jersey on Oct. 29 to stump for Gov. Jon S. Corzine, a Democrat who is seeking re-election in a tough, three-way race.
Six of Kaine's out-of-state trips were to Washington.
The full list represents "a combination of state work, work in his role as chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and personal time," states the release from Kaine's spokesman, Gordon Hickey.
The office does not give further details on how much of Kaine's travel was national political business or personal.

Nice day for a Hike!!! Where is our DNC Head during Election Day? He is out hiking?? He should be Fired! What a jerk.
This is good news. Instead of having an Obama puppet in Richmond screwing up this great Commonwealth, our Democrat Gov is mired in the business of distributing the his party’s misery over 49 other states.
We should be thankful the full wrath of an Obama puppet governor is not focused entirely on Virgina.
We have a governor? Since when did that happen? Oh, you’re talking about today’s election, because you can’t be talking about the last several years.
And bracey2, two wrongs don’t make a right, you should have learned that in the 1st grade.
He should pay the State of Virginia back during all time spent out of state for the DNC. What a dishonest lier! He should be ashamed. I guess he will be tonight. What a pathetic lack of leadership!
Hey folks, concerning TK being on the go and not doing his full time government job as Gov, you might want to look back on Doug Wilder’s administration as Gov. DW stayed on the road and on the plane. He spent more time over seas than in the US!!
He should leave more often. He can do less damage that way…
The only travel that Kaine does which will interest me is when he travels out of this great state for good.
It appears to me that Kaines shining star in the DNC has diminished somewhat. Not much national attention of him by the top Democrats.
If the dems get hammered as badly as some are predicting, Timmy could be out of two jobs come January.
