21-year prison term for shooting off man’s leg
A Richmond man will spend 21 years in prison for blowing a friend's leg off with an assault rifle last year while trying to shoot another man, prosecutors said yesterday.
Wilbur Green Jr., 43, opened fire on a man Feb. 7 after a disagreement involving a woman but accidentally hit David Bullock, the godfather of Green's son, Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney Tracy Thorne-Begland said.
"It blew his leg pretty much clean off at the knee," Thorne-Begland said.
The shooting took place outside Bullock's house in the 1300 block of Willis Street in South Richmond.
Green was convicted Nov. 7 of aggravated malicious wounding, attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of use of a firearm in a felony, Thorne-Begland said.
Richmond Circuit Judge Beverly W. Snukals yesterday sentenced Green to 43 years in prison, with all but 21 years suspended.

Gun Owner = Obtuse
(look it up gun owner)
Exactly what is an “assault” rifle, other than a label the anti-gun mentality uses to demonize what they hate so much? The true telling statement is: “...possession of a firearm by a convicted felon…“ Those of inferior moral fabric will continue to infect their sores upon society, regardless of the impliment used.
If he’d only blown his foot off he’d have only gotten 15 years.
