Richmond’s Erb has big day in Berlin

BERLIN - Richmonder Esther Erb competed in the Berlin Marathon yesterday, placing 14th overall.

The 2008 Case Western graduate and recipient of the NCAA Woman of the Year award navigated the 40k course in an impressive 2:37:18.

Last May, the 22-year-old Maggie Walker graduate notched the NCAA Division III national title for the 10,000-meter run with a time of 35:45:01.

One month later she placed fourth in the XTERRA Richmond Xduro.

Ethiopian Haile Gebrselassie won the Berlin contest when he broke his own world record, finishing at 2:03:59.
