Hundreds of people gathered outside the Richmond Coliseum this evening to celebrate the life of Michael Jackson, who died Thursday.

Fans of all ages attended the event that was arranged by Citizens Against Crime, an organization perhaps best known for holding candlelight vigils for homicide victims.

Local politicians including Mayor Dwight C. Jones and state Del. Delores L. McQuinn, D-Richmond, and others spoke to the crowd about the impact of the King of Pop.

Performers sang and danced on stage to some of Jackson's best-known songs.
