Deadline today for Poe fest in Petersburg
-- PETERSBURG-- Today is the deadline to get on the guest list for Saturday's 200th birthday celebration for Edgar Allan Poe.
The celebration will begin at 8 p.m. at Minerva Books, 233 Bartow Alley in Old Towne.
It will feature a look-a-like contest (props, dramatic renderings and creativity are encouraged), a literary scavenger hunt, prizes and wine.
The event is free but limited to those 21 and older who RSVP by e-mail to or by phone at (804) 732-2400 by today.
