Republican Bob McDonnell leads Democrat R. Creigh Deeds by 11 percentage points in a new Washington Post poll released eight days before Virginians elect their next governor.

Among notable factors, McDonnell leads among independents by 25 percentage points.

The Post polled 2,132 adults Thursday through Sunday, including 1,206 likely voters. The results have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Deeds has little charisma and is an uninspiring public speaker.  He is also overweight and has bad hair.  Minorities will not come out to vote for Deeds like they did for Obama.  Conservatives will come out to vote for McDonnell, because of the negative campaigning by Deeds.

Bob McDonnell is hopefully going to have an opportunity to make a big difference for this state.  Kaine let the budget define his governorship.  We cannot afford for that to happen to the next governor.

I think Deeds thought all along he could ride Obamas coat tails into the governors mansion. When it became apparent that strategy wouldn’t work he did what ANY aspiring politician will do…..he went negative.
What was he gonna say,‘I’m going to raise your taxes just like Obama’?
I don’t think Deeds is a bad guy, just a lousy campaigner.
He should team up with John McCain.

You have to tell people what you’re going to do sometime. Just trashing your opponent when he can prove everything you’re saying is false just won’t cut it.

Deeds is done. Obama has all ready thrown him under the bus because he does not want share the blame.
So far Obama has been the “not my fault” guy. Guess he was never taught that people are accountable for their actions, but so far, every decision he has made is not his fault. It is really George Bush’s.
If Deeds put out information in his ads, had ideas instead of attacking Bob he may have done better.
If the country was not about to be bankrupt with staggering debt and the Obama admin shoveling on more debt everyday, he may have had a chance.
Riding coat tails can help and hurt.

you can see the Whitehouse distancing themselves from this loss.  Most likely will blame everyone but their lack of credibility to help Deeds.

Priceless.
