Two Prince George County convenience stores were robbed overnight by an armed man of identical description, who also resembled the person who robbed a market in eastern Chesterfield County.
The first Prince George robbery occurred about 10:45 p.m. at the Uppy’s convenience store in the 12000 block of South Crater Road. A man wearing a black ski mask, gray hoodie, and black pants entered the market and displayed a silver handgun with a brown handle, according to Police Lt. Brian Kei.
“He said, ‘Give me the money, give me the money,‘“ Kei said today.
No one was injured, and the man fled on foot behind the building with an undisclosed amount of money.
The second robbery occurred at 1:27 a.m. at the Valero convenience store in the 5000 block of Oaklawn Boulevard. A man fitting the same description entered the store, displayed the same type of gun, and demanded money. No one was injured, and the man fled on foot behind the building with an undisclosed amount of money.
“Both of these convenience stores are located right off of the interstate,“ Kei said.
The Uppy’s station is near the Rives Road exit of Interstate 95, and the Valero store is near an exit on Interstate 295 near Hopewell.
Earlier last night, Chesterfield police said a man robbed the Nash Mart store at 1740 East Hundred Road, which also is near I-295. Police said the man wore black material that covered his entire face, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and dark jeans. He also wored dark gloves with white at the wrists, weighed about 165 pounds, and stood about 5 feet 10 inches.
However, the suspect did not display a weapon in the Chesterfield robbery, which occurred about 9:19 p.m. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash toward North Enon Church Road.
“We have not made any definitive connection to the incidents in Prince George,“ said Chesterfield police spokeswoman Ann Reid.

I saw this sort of thing happen in Detroit more than twenty years ago. It starts like this. Gas stations start to ask for pre-pay for cash. Sound familiar? (happened here two years ago).
Then the banks and the convenience stores start to put up Bullet-Proof Lexan. That’s what’s next for Richmond, folks. It will be in all areas, not just the “shadier’ parts of town.
Remember, the police are always saying “Just give them what they want, and don’t fight them.“ (shakes head)
Yes, Criminal prefer unarmed, passive, willing victims. Wouldn’t want to upset the CRIMINAL by…I dunno… SHOOTING THEM!
The excuses are wearing pretty thin on why people should not defend themselves as best as possible.
How long before all these store owners are going to wise up and either lock up at night or arm themselves?
and how stupid are these crooks? A “C” Store does not have that much cash available after midnight. Guess they are getting about 100.00 or less.
