No injuries were reported in a two-alarm fire this morning at a plant that makes printing inks and pigments in the Walthall area of Chesterfield County.

Battalion Chief David Throckmorton of Chesterfield Fire & EMS said firefighters were called to the Sun Chemical plant at 4:59 a.m.

The facility is a one-story warehouse-type building at 1600 Continental Blvd., in the Appomattox Industrial Center just off Ruffin Mill Road.

The fire, which apparently began in a mixing vat before spreading to duct work, was marked under control at 6:18 a.m., Throckmorton said.
