Arctic air headed our way later this week

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 30s or the 40s for the Richmond area over the next three days, but there are changes on the horizon.

The weather service says an arctic air mass will move over the region Thursday night and stick around through Saturday.

Lows will drop into the teens Thursday night with single-digit wind chills, and air temperatures will reach the upper 20s to low 30s Friday.

There will be more of the same Friday night before temperatures slowly start to moderate and recover through the weekend and into early next week.
