All lanes of Interstate 95 just reopened in Richmond after an early-morning crash today that killed two people and injured three others.

The crash occurred about 12:45 a.m. after a car pulled over with a flat tire in the left northbound lane of the interstate on the James River Bridge in Richmond, State Police Sgt. Thomas Molnar said today. Four people got out of the car, with two standing at the rear and two at the front of the vehicle.

Another vehicle crashed into the stopped car, killing both people at the back of the vehicle, Molnar said. State police identified one victim as Antonio Montague, 22, of Richmond. Identification of the second victim is pending family notification.

The other two occupants of the stopped vehicle and the driver of the second vehicle were taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash initially closed the left and center lanes of I-95 in both directions. The southbound lanes of the interstate were reopened earlier today, and the remaining northbound lanes were reopened about 6:15 a.m.
