New Kent administrator will take state job

New Kent County Administrator John A. Budesky is resigning his position to become executive director of the state Workers’ Compensation Commission.

Budesky will make the move on or before Oct 1. The Board of Supervisors will decide on an interim replacement and on searching for his successor next week.

He has served as county administrator since April, 2005. Budesky came to the county after serving as assistant manager of Hagerstown, Md.
