Pamplin Historical Park expands operations for summer
Published: May 23, 2009
Pamplin Historical Park and The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier will be open daily this summer, officials said.
The summer hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, beginning this weekend and running at least through mid-August. Decisions on fall and winter hours will be made later, officials said in a news release. The 422-acre private historic site near Petersburg has been open Mondays through Fridays since March, and only by reservations on weekends, following a partial closing in January and February because of the poor economy and decreased funding Officials at that time said a decision had yet to be made on summer hours.
Park leaders said in a news release that spring visitation had been “robust.”
The park is off Exit 63-A on Interstate 85. Phone (804) 861-2408 or (877) PAMPLIN, or visit http://www.pamplinpark.org.
