Richmond police are looking for a 21-year-old man in Sunday's shooting of a 10-year-old boy in the Whitcomb Court public-housing complex.

Investigators said yesterday that they are seeking Daniel L. Gainyard of the 1300 block of Selma Lane in Richmond.

They said Gainyard may have information about the shooting that wounded Trequan Bugg, a fourth-grader at Fairfield Elementary School. Trequan was shot in the head in the 2300 block of Ambrose Street about 12:35 a.m. as he arrived home with his mother from a visit to his grandmother's home.

Richmond police said Trequan, who was originally listed in critical condition at VCU Medical Center, was improving.

Anyone with information about Gainyard can call the Richmond Police Tips Line at (804) 514-8477 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
