Police believe Larry Donnell Starks, 26, of Disputanta is involved in at least four robberies.

Chesterfield County police have arrested a Disputanta man who authorities say is a suspect in several other recent holdups in the Richmond region.

Larry Donnell Starks, 26, has been charged in Thursday night's holdup of the Nash Mart in the 1700 block of East Hundred Road, near an exit for Interstate 295.

That same store was robbed Tuesday about 9:20 p.m., followed by two other convenience store holdups less than three hours apart in Prince George County.

They include Tuesday's 10:45 p.m. robbery of the Uppy's store in the 12000 block of South Crater Road and Wednesday's 1:27 a.m. robbery of the Valero convenience store in the 5000 block of Oaklawn Boulevard.

"We feel pretty confident that it's the same guy," said Lt. Brian Kei of the Prince George Police Department.

Starks was arrested about 7:45 a.m. yesterday after police said he showed up at the Chesterfield police precinct in Chester to reclaim his car, which police towed from the robbery scene.

"We are looking at him and his involvement in other robberies," said Lt. Eric Hartman of the Chesterfield Police Department.

"We have provided information to surrounding agencies who have had similar robberies."

Because of the recent string of holdups, Chesterfield police intensified their patrols in the area of Thursday evening's robbery, Hartman said.

Officers observed a man in the Nash Mart parking lot about 9:50 p.m. wearing a mask and gloves.

He fled into nearby woods and couldn't be located. State police and Richmond police assisted in the manhunt.

Starks is being held without bond in the Chesterfield jail pending a hearing Monday in Chesterfield General District Court.
