Excerpts: Farmville suspect’s sister writes
The following are excerpts from an e-mail yesterday from Sarah McCroskey, 21, sister of Richard Samuel Alden McCroskey III, sent to the Richmond Times-Dispatch:
"A tragedy has been bestowed upon us and my heart goes out to the ones who lost their lives and to their loved ones whom are dealing with such a horrific loss. 4 innocent people in Farmville, Virginia are gone and no one knows why or how. . . .
"As much as I love Sammy, who is still a 5 year old boy in my eyes . . . I know if he is proven guilty, he will suffer the consequences like a man.
"I wish nothing more then (sic) for this situation to be dealt with in a true, honost (sic), mature way. I will forever have love for my brother and will stand by him as much as humanly possible. . . . There are still people who have to live their lives and their daily routines with this dark cloud raining down on us. The last thing we need is to have fingers pointed at innocent people, not just those whom are related to the suspects/victims, but also to those who helped resolve this situation thus far.
"As for my little brother, I am very shocked that he, if guilty, was capable of doing something so extreme. He was always the quiet kid in the background who got along with everyone. He was very well liked and constantly had the house phone ringing from all his friends. To me, he was the best little brother anyone can ask for. He is a very talented musician, yes his lyrics may be very vulgar to someone who is not familiar with this genre, but he, in his scene was going somewhere with his career choice.
"Just thinking that my brother is the main suspect in a quadruple homicide drives me insane. . . . All I can really say is that I, as his older sister, feel like I failed. I wish I could have been there for him way more then I was. I have never in my life felt completely helpless and alone. If I could have anything in the world right now, it would be to have 30 seconds with him so I can hug him and let him know that his family is here and I will always love him no matter what the outcome is. . . .
"I hope the deceased rest in peace and will forever be remembered for who they were, and not for what they went through."

The alleged Farmville killer will most likely never stand trial for the 4 heinous murders committed last week because he will plead not guilty due to insanity. There is rumor he claimed “Jesus” told him to to kill. Remember David Berkowitz? He murdered a number of people and never went to trial by reason of insanity.
If the young man is found guilty, it is unlikely that anyone will be pointing fingers at anyone other than the killer(s) himself, because only the killer, or killers had the choice to kill or not. The truth is that the friends and family of those killed will never return to a normal life, because their loved ones were taken unnaturally and intentionally by another human being or human beings. There seems to be more and more of this senseless killing lately, we need to get tougher and start putting the guilty to death. Why are people like the Washington DC sniper duo still polluting our air and draining our finances. Seems only the lawyers are gaining any satisfaction in these horrific cases.

Remember that this young man is innocent until proven guilty. This IS America!
Amen,Tomeka28 and ProudAmerican24.
I’m not surprised. I would expect anyone to still have love for a family member even if they are guilty of a crime. It’s that un-conditional love and it can’t be broken.
Also, I don’t think her remorse is any less or more than other families we read about that release a statement about a family member who (allegedly) committed a crime. I just think this one wasn’t so politically correct and “prepared” ahead of time. It was honest, raw, true feelings.
Ok’ Steeler fan, give her some credit. She did have remorse, but what more can she say or do, when honestly it’s not her fault…
“A tragedy has been bestowed upon us and my heart goes out to the ones who lost their lives and to their loved ones whom are dealing with such a horrific loss. 4 innocent people in Farmville, Virginia are gone and no one knows why or how. . . .
And she also say’s:
“I hope the deceased rest in peace and will forever be remembered for who they were, and not for what they went through.“
Now maybe it’s just me, but I thought that was very nice, because she didn’t have to say anything at all.
Last but not least anyone who does not feel her pain both ways has to be plain ignorant or has never had a brother, son, mother, daughter or any family member for that matter commit murder, so they don’t know how it feels.
Also anyone that would turn their back on their family is ignorant. Everybody needs somebody. And even though I could really care less to hear about her feelings towards her brother, she’s still human, she didn’t commit any crime, so why be mad at her…
Remember TRUE LOVE is unconditional….
So please Steeler Fan don’t take it personal that is her brother whom she has loved her whole life.
What if he was your brother how would you feel and would you speak on his behalf if you felt as if the murders he had been accused of may have happen, but was unbelievable to you. Would you just forget about him or would you want to speak on his behalf to let the world know about the brother you knew.
Despite what has happen…..
And Yes I believe he is guilty and deserves the maximum, but his Family has nothing to do with it. He made his own choices….
Is it just me or was there no remorse in that message to the victims? Who cares about how sad she is for her brother. It’s time for news outlets to quit making heroes and martyrs out of these sick, disgusting maniacs. I’m tired of hearing about he was such a sweet kid, he would never hurt anyone. Obviously you don’t know them as well as you thought you did or this wouldn’t surprise you. You can’t write and sing about killing, raping, and torture without fantasizing about it. When that stops being erotic they have to move on to the next step. Then they get to relive it over and over again, and become heroes to the rest of the sickos. If they never heard their name again that would be the best punishment for them. May the victims and their families find peace again one day.
