1 arrested, 2 sought in Henrico teen’s videotaped beating
Henrico County police have arrested a 15-year-old girl and are seeking two other people in the beating of a 14-year-old girl near Wilder Middle School that was taped and shown on the Internet.
Lt. Doug Perry said the 15-year-old, whose identity was not released because of her age, was charged with assault and battery.
Police are seeking two other people, believed to be adults, who were not seen on the videotape but were heard coaxing the 15-year-old.
"If they're adults, we may charge them with contributing to the delinquency of a minor," Perry said.

Perry said the beating occurred June 12 at about 2:45 p.m., shortly after classes ended for the academic year at Wilder Middle. A group of several dozen people went across the street from the school into Three Lakes Park, where the assault occurred, Perry said.
The video, which was posted briefly on YouTube, was about 16 seconds long, "but we know the fight went on for quite a while," Perry said.
The 14-year-old had various bruises and abrasions.

Urovr8d, Alright then she was trying out for the church youth league. Nobody knew the assault was being videotaped. Someone’s camera was on by accident, purely coincidental.

The punishment needs to be very harsh. The laws need to be changed. Sexting is just as bad. I beleive the girl who did the beating was being interduced into a gang. This is when the law needs to be fierce even more so. The more the law is harsher. Maybe, just maybe they can get a handle on this gang crap. I moved my kids to get away from it & now the gangs are in the country areas. OMG! Help change the laws on the gang violence. And keep our kids safer.
It’s a good thing that it was a person that was beaten instead of an animal. Otherwise we would be talking some serious jail time for animal cruelty. Would probably be 20 comments filled with outrage and disgust if it was an animal that was beaten.
I agree, this is far more disturbing than pics over a cell phone. I hope everyone involved is prosecuted to the fullest. How sad that this is what passes for entertainment for people, I feel for the girl and hope she can move on from this horrible incident.
I think this type of stuff is far worse than the forwarded nude pics that some teenagers are sending. But, this will receive minimal exposure and will not ruin the lives of those involved like nude pictures. What is going to be next, killing someone on camera and posting on Youtube. In this society, that would probably have far less stigma…than “OMG, some underage girl/boy showed some flesh, let’s put them on the sex-offender list and ruin the rest of their lives”
