Richmond police have arrested a man they say is responsible for several acts of graffiti vandalism in the city's Oregon Hill area and several city parks.

Chad J. Niemi, 33, of the 600 block of South Cherry Street, has been charged with three counts of destruction of property and one count of possession of marijuana.

Police said an investigation by officer Ward Kuper determined that Niemi was a graffiti vandal using the tag name "Dr. Bastard." Physical evidence at Niemi's residence supported the finding, police said.

You guys are ridiclous!!! First he has not been found guilty, second the most creative people in the world share theis art… maybe the wrong forum but they are all excentric in their on way and leave an important impression to society in art and culture…. We should guide that talent to the right outletnot percute him like he ran a dog fighting operation oh… wait that guy is still rich too… Think most people love him again now… Much worse than any of this… LET IT GO!!!
For you drbastardhater… you are the worst posting someones work before they are even found guilty and who cares how much money anyone makes… Should not even be an issue… Hope you get a dose of your own medicine one day!

How about this for punishment!?! Dress him up in a pink tu-tu, put him in a BABY blue prius (hybrid of course because artists want to be good for the environment!) and make him stop at every “tagged” spot and stand around with a sign that says “your new canvas, paint me!“ and provide spectators with a free can of paint and a paint brush.

Community Service is the best form of restitution for this crime.

The judge should give him a choice.
One year in the city jail or spend every weekend and holiday (12 hour days)for a year. cleaning graffiti from buildings, bridges, etc. with a tooth brush and the appropriate cleaning products which he will pay for.
In the event of inclement weather on a weekend or holiday he can make that time up.

How about sentencing this “self proclaimed” artist to doing a year of community service where all he would do is paint the sides of walls that others have illegally marked up?  That would serve him right.  How STUPID can he be??

How about 6 months in the city jail? That would send a message to the other self-appointed public artists their work is not appreciated.
