Hanover Fire & EMS equipment stolen

The Hanover County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of two pieces of equipment from a fire station.

Sheriff's Capt. Michael J. Trice said the theft occurred either late Saturday night or Sunday morning when someone took a utility trailer that was carrying an all-terrain vehicle. The theft occurred at Hanover County Fire Company No. 5 in the 13000 block of Hanover Courthouse Road.

The 7-by-10-foot black utility trailer was holding a 2001 John Deere 6-by-4 Gator. The ATV was painted fire engine red and was adorned with several Hanover Fire & EMS decals.

Anyone with information can call the sheriff's office at (804) 365-6140 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.

Was the firehouse occuppied at time of theft? I know there’s not alot of fire’s that happen in Hanover. Sounds like an inside job or a prank..
