Richmond police have arrested one man and are seeking two others in a fatal shooting in the city's East End early yesterday.

Officers responding to the 2300 block of Phaup Street just before 3 a.m. found Orlando C. Alston, 24, dead of an apparent gunshot wound. Alston lived in the 2300 block of Selden Street, near where the shooting occurred.

Shortly after the shooting, police charged Vernon Lee Thomas, 34, of the 1700 block of Jacqueline Street with conspiracy to commit murder. He was taken into custody and is being held without bond.

Police also are looking for two men who fled on foot. They said they believe an argument led to the shooting.
