Prince George man fatally shot at sister’s home
A Prince George County man was found fatally shot early yesterday in the driveway of his sister's home, police said.
The body of the victim, identified as William Joseph Miller Jr., 39, was discovered about 4:40 a.m. outside his sibling's residence in the 3700 block of Prince George Drive.
As of last night, police had made no arrests but were investigating a possible connection to a domestic incident that occurred about the same time and roughly 500 feet away on Prince George Drive.
Yesterday's incident unfolded before dawn when police were alerted about a possible domestic situation inside a vehicle on Prince George Drive. A responding officer located the vehicle on Prince George Drive near Middle Road, and while handling the call, he heard multiple gunshots just north of his position, said Capt. Eric Young.
"The officer immediately responded to investigate the gunshots," Young said.
About one-tenth of a mile way, the officer found a man lying facedown in a driveway with apparent gunshot wounds, Young said. The man was declared dead at the scene.
Young said police are investigating whether the earlier domestic dispute is related to Miller's killing.
The slaying is Prince George's first of the year.
