Sniper Muhammad to die by lethal injection

If executed as scheduled Nov. 10, condemned Beltway Sniper John Allen Muhammad will die by lethal injection, not electrocution.
Larry Traylor, spokesman for the Virginia Department of Corrections, said this morning that Muhammad, 48, declined to choose between either means of execution. In such cases, the default method is lethal injection.
Lethal injection became an option to electrocution in Virginia in 1995. Since then, there have been 75 lethal injections and four electrocutions.
Muhammad was sentenced to die for the Oct. 9, 2002, slaying of Dean Meyers, 53, shot to death by a rifle fired at long range while stopped at a Manassas-area gas station on his way home from work.
The slaying was one of 10 killings and three woundings committed by Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo, 24, that spread fear throughout Maryland, Washington and Virginia in October 2002. Malvo, a juvenile at the time of the shootings, is serving a life term.
Unless the courts or the governor intervene, Muhammad's execution is set for 9 p.m. at the Greensville Correctional Center in Jarratt.

what do you mean he did not get a fair trial?...just because so much evidence exhists and so many people know he did it does not mean he did not get and continues to get his day in court. His victims got their day in a funeral parlor.And as far as him being black, thats between him and god, not our justice system….the race card is old , outdated and boring…zzzzzzzzzzz….

As for John Allen Mohammad, forgiveness is the hardest thing to do in life in my opinion. Am I happy he’s going to die? I’d be lying if I said no. If that makes me a bad christian than I’m willing to accept that label, because I don’t have it in me to forgive this scum. Maybe I’m picking and choosing what christian rules to follow, but if someone isn’t remorseful for their actions, in my opinion they don’t deserve forgiveness and I shouldn’t have to give it to them in that case.
Maybe God will have a little less mercy than we are showing this animal.
He got a fair trial. So worried about his rights 350, what right did the 10 he killed get when they were working, pumping gas etc and that maniac just shot them? Who cares, I hope he dies a sllllowww painful death.

He was given a fair trial and the evidence overwhelming…now John Allen Muhammed must pay the price for his crimes. And yes, I am an African-American who supports the death penalty. John Allen needs to “man-up” and face a firing squad, not lethal injection. He needs to look death in the eye and see the fear and pain caused by his actions on innocent lives. He and his partner knew well what they were doing. We must uphold our nation’s laws when crimes are committed or people will take lightly the consequences of their actions and be more brazen and vile in their crimes. Right is right.
