A Chesterfield County man has been charged in Henrico County with impersonating a Richmond police officer and then raping a woman.

Johnny Eugene Quick, 44, of the 5100 block of Gention Road is scheduled to make a court appearance this morning in Henrico General District Court after being arrested on a firearm charge along with charges of abduction, rape and impersonating a police officer, according to Henrico police.

Quick was arrested Saturday afternoon after an incident Friday night in which a woman said she accepted a ride from Quick, who told her he was a police officer, according to Henrico police.

Quick, who was not wearing a uniform, drove the woman a few blocks into Henrico from the Chamberlayne Avenue area of North Richmond and raped the woman before releasing her, according to police.

Ladies, please do not accept rides from people you do not know. If they are truly a police officer, they will show you identification, and most likely be in uniform and in a marked car. If they are not in uniform and in a marked car, do not accept a ride. Fortunately this woman was set free, the ending could have been much worse. I hope this woman receives all of the counseling she will surely need, and I hope this poor excuse of a man is sent away for a very long time.
