Henrico County police yesterday released drawings of a facial reconstruction in hopes of solving a homicide that occurred more than 18 years ago.

Henrico police completed the two-dimensional facial reconstruction based on skeletal remains that were found Jan. 11, 1991, in a wooded area off Evergreen Road in the county's eastern end.

Forensic medical investigators determined that the remains were those of a black woman, about 25 to 40 years old, between 5 feet and 5-foot-5 and weighing 100 to 115 pounds.

The victim, who was wrapped in a blanket and had signs of trauma to the skull, was wearing a size 6 pair of frayed denim shorts with topstitching and a "Made in Thailand" label. She was believed to have died between 1989 and 1990.

The drawings released yesterday represents a likeness of how the victim may have looked.

Anyone with information can call Henrico police investigator J.M. Berger at (804) 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
