Suspect named in Chesterfield robbery case
Chesterfield County police have identified a man they believe assaulted and robbed a Chinese-food delivery driver last week in Chesterfield.
Authorities are seeking Bobmichael L. Davis, 19, of the 1700 block of Woodyshade Circle in Chesterfield in the Sept. 7 holdup of a Fu Wah Restaurant driver outside Friendship Memorial Baptist Church in the 1900 block of Hicks Road. The victim was talking to aman about the food transaction in the parking lot when someone else hit him from behind with an unknown object, police said.
The victim was not seriously hurt. The church was closed at the time.
The robbery is one of a string of delivery-driver holdups in Richmond, Chesterfield and Henrico County dating to the April 12 attempted robbery and killing of a Chinese-food deliveryman in Henrico. Last week, Richmond police arrested a city teenager in the July 27 slaying of a Chinese-food deliveryman in the Whitcomb Court public-housing complex.
Chesterfield police Capt. Terry Patterson said investigators have no information that would link Davis to any of the other delivery-driver holdups. About 90 minutes before the Chesterfield robbery, a different Chinese-food delivery driver was attacked and robbed by two males armed with guns in the 4100 block of North Avenue in Richmond.
Police described Davis as 6 feet 2 inches tall and 195 pounds with brown eyes, and they said he frequents the Rosegill Road area. Anyone with information can contact Chesterfield police at (804) 748-1251 or Crime Solvers at (804) 748-0660, or text the code tip699 and send to 274637 (CRIMES).
